Leadership
Sol Adventure is operated by a Christian bilingual family. Brad organizes and leads trips to Latin America and Erika's focus is on Spanish instruction.
Brad organizes the Latin America trips. He was born in the USA and has taught high school, worked in urban and youth ministries, and led wilderness expeditions. When not leading trips to Latin America, he enjoys reading, camping, remodeling, and traveling. He married Erika while volunteering in the Ecuadorian rainforest in 2002 and has since spent half of his time in Latin America.
Erika was born and raised in Ecuador and has lived in the Amazon jungle, the Andes, and the pacific coast along the Ruta del Sol. She has worked in urban ministries, elementary education, and tourism. She specializes in Spanish instruction. She is the mother of two beautiful bilingual children, Elisa, born in Ecuador, and David, born in the USA. Brad considers Erika to be a “miracle Spanish tutor” because he became suddenly fluent in Spanish after meeting her.
Sol Adventure partners closely with local Christian leaders in Ecuador and Costa Rica. Pastor Walter Silva from Ecuador has served as a missionary for 25 years and disciples new believers in the faith. Hector Soto began Voz que Clama Mission in Costa Rica and operates the Christian Immersion Spanish Academy. They form a small part of a network of trusted friends living in the host country.
